Zookeeper For The Day │ August 15
Brookgreen Gardens visitors age 12 and older can get an up-close experience with the animals while working at the zoo. Participants will help zookeepers with their daily routines of feeding and caring for the animals. Registration is $150, and is limited to one person per day.
Wine Around The MarshWalk │ Date TBA
The exact date for this new event is yet to be set, but it’s worth putting a reminder on your calendar. This fall you can enjoy wines from the best restaurants in Pawleys Island while enjoying the outdoor atmosphere native to the Murrells Inlet area.
43rd Annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival │ September 28-30
Atalaya Castle at Huntington Beach State Park will host the work of more than a hundred artists at the end of September. Guests will not only enjoy browsing the artwork, but live music, food, and quality crafts will also be available. Guests will pay $10 for admission and may return throughout the weekend with a festival ticket. People under the age of 15 will be admitted free of charge. Admission to the park during the festival is also free. This is a dog and pet-free event.
Brew At The Zoo │ September 29
One of the best parts of Pawleys Island restaurant menus is the number of unique craft beers, and Brew at the Zoo and Brookgreen Gardens showcases those beers. This beer-centric event will feature over 30 regional and national craft brews, live entertainment, and a silent auction to raise money for new projects at the Brookgreen Gardens. It takes place from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Harvest Home Weekend Festival │ October 6-7
What better way to celebrate the change of seasons than with a weekend fall festival of sorts at BrookGreen Gardens. The event will be held October 6-7 and will feature hay rides, scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, sidewalk chalking, a ‘Not so Spooky Swamp Adventure’ creek cruise, live music, food and beverages, and more. The entire family will enjoy the activities of this weekend and is a great way to explore BrookGreen Gardens. Once the fall celebration concludes, spend the evening at one of the nearby Pawleys Island restaurants.
Halloween on the MarshWalk │ October 31
The MarshWalk Halloween event kicks off at 5 p.m. with trick-or-treating for the kids. The evening includes prizes for the best costumes and the location offers easy access to some of Pawleys Island’s fine dining restaurants
