Pawleys Island Wine & Food Gala
Now in its 20thyear, the Pawleys Island Wine & Food Galais an event that introduces guests to an extensive list of fine wines, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and a three hour dessert tasting. The event benefits the Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art and will include silent auction full of wonderful trips and a complimentary wine glass. The event is planned for Thursday, October 3 at 7 p.m.
Georgetown Wooden Boat Show
Explore the intricate details of more than 140 wooden boats during the Georgetown Wooden Boat Show, planned for October, 19. Admission is free and you’ll enjoy a boat building competition, kids’ model boat-building and knot-tying, crafts, and much more. You’ll find the boats displayed at the South Carolina Maritime Museum.
Brew at the Zoo
Brookgreen Gardens scheduled its annual Brew at the Zoo event for November 2. The cool air will be the ideal setting to enjoy beer tastings from more than 30 regional and craft brews. Enjoy the sounds of the Paul Grimshaw Band and join in on a game o giant Jenga or cornhole while you sip you beer. The games will be auctioned off at the end of the evening for endless fun at home.
Guy Osborne Memorial Turtle Strut
The Pawleys Island Nature Park will be home to the 27thAnnual Guy Osborne Memorial Turtle Strut 5K and 8K races.The Turtle Strut, which was renamed for the town’s late police chief several years ago, is a flat, fast course that runs south on Myrtle Avenue by the Pawleys Island Creek. The event will be held November 9.
